Heal Kutch Movement is a pioneering initiative led by Dr. Krupesh Thacker and his team of dedicated healthcare professionals and volunteers. This project addresses critical gaps in healthcare administration in the Kutch region, identified by Dr. Krupesh due to the absence of local health administrators and insufficient public support for health initiatives. Dr. Krupesh Thacker, leveraging his expertise from his Masters in Health Administration from UNCC, USA, took the lead to fill this void. The Heal Kutch Movement focuses on integrating innovative strategies that are culturally and socially relevant to the local population. Recognizing the need to engage the community effectively, the project employs a blend of traditional healing methods and modern healthcare practices.


The project utilizes cultural and social activities such as festival celebrations, music therapy events, and interactive workshops and seminars on women and child care. These initiatives aim not only to educate but also to foster community involvement and acceptance of health practices. By aligning strategies with the cultural context of Kutch, the project ensures that health awareness becomes accessible and engaging for all. Now in its ninth year, the Heal Kutch Movement has successfully created awareness and promoted sustainable health practices through its innovative approach. By centering its initiatives around ‘Pancheshwar,’ (five gods) , the project created five ways of awareness achieved lasting impact on the health and well-being of the region.

The Heal Kutch Movement, initiated under the stewardship of Dr. Krupesh Thacker, the managing director of Give Vacha Foundation, endeavors to tackle significant healthcare awareness challenges prevalent in the Kutch region. Dr. Krupesh identified several pressing issues that needed urgent attention:

  1. Preventive Healthcare Awareness: There is a noticeable lack of awareness regarding preventive healthcare practices among various demographic groups in Kutch, including women, children, elders, adolescents, and teenagers.

  3. Clubfoot Awareness: There is a general lack of awareness about newborn deformity such as clubfoot among the people of Kutch district.
  4. Music Therapy Awareness: The benefits of music therapy in healthcare are not well understood or appreciated within the community.
  5. Mental and Emotional Wellbeing: There is insufficient awareness regarding the importance of mental and emotional wellbeing, leading to neglect in addressing these aspects of health.

Founder of Krup Music Therapy Clinic & Research Centre, he is renowned as one of India’s best music therapist, specializing in corporate and child music therapy in Gujarat.
